The natural aging process often comes with degeneration and decreased functionality. However, the amount of degeneration one experiences is not solely age-related. It's influenced by an individual's activity level, nutritional habits, and lifestyle choices. The elderly population in America must face issues of longevity, mortality, and quality of life as they age. It's crucial to consider age-related diseases that can be slowed or even reversed through regular exercise. Many older adults struggling with these conditions can become limited in their ability to do Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, eating, and moving around. In addition, they can also lose the ability to perform Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADL), such as managing finances or doing housework. The loss of independence can be difficult for aging clients. Therefore, exercise is a crucial factor in enhancing the health and longevity of older adults.

Specialized training for older adults in exercise is to improve your overall health, increase strength and flexibility, assist with balance and coordination, and boost your sense of well-being. The training may also take into account any pre-existing health conditions or limitations that older adults may have and tailor exercises to accommodate those individual needs. Additionally, the training may incorporate elements of socialization and connection to help older adults remain engaged and motivated in their exercise routine.
